Julien Marchal · Piano solo
Intimate, minimalist piano.
Julien Marchal is a French pianist and composer based in Bordeaux. His INSIGHT series brings together five solo piano albums, released between 2015 and 2025. A close, understated sound places the notes, the space between them and the piano’s mechanical sounds at the centre of the music.
For listeners exploring neoclassical piano, INSIGHT offers a way into Julien Marchal’s solo work. Here, minimalism describes an intimate approach to texture and phrasing: a piano heard up close, with room for its resonances and silences.
